The American Chinchilla has average sized litters, grows to be around 9-12lbs, is well known for its great bone-to-meat ratio, and is very even tempered. It has been a solid choice for fur fanciers since it was developed as it mimics the animal of its namesake, the Chinchilla. This breed is listed as the most rare of the chinchilla varieties and is listed as a watch breed with the Livestock Conservancy.

American Sables average 8-10lbs and were developed for the same reasons as the American Chinchilla, to fill a niche in the fur industry. The average litter size is around 8 kits. The Sables we are working with are part of a color project as well. 

Cinnamon rabbits were developed to be a well tempered meat rabbit. At maturity they weigh 9-11lbs. They are a larger option for the medium sized rabbits and boast a russet, or cinnamon colored fur. The fur is unique and appealing to fur buyers as well.

Saratoga Homestead offers monthly terminal cull buying dates for rabbits in good flesh and good health. All sizes and ages accepted a long with nest box culls. Prices vary based on size and age. Please contact us to arrange a Cull date. These rabbits become part of the farm-to-table and pet food markets.
